telc Pflege Lesen Teil 2: Care Plan Matching

In telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege, Lesen Teil 2 gives you one care plan (Pflegeplanung) with 8 excerpts (a–h) and 5 statements. You match each statement to one excerpt, and one statement matches no excerpt, so you mark it with x. Each correct item gives 1 point, so Teil 2 is worth 5 points.

What is the format of telc Pflege Lesen Teil 2?

The official telc mock exam (Übungstest 1) shows Teil 2 on pages 12 and 13. The items have the numbers 28 to 32. A short admission report (Aufnahmebericht) comes before the care plan and introduces the resident.

Lesen has 18 points in total, and Teil 2 gives 5 of them. Our telc Pflege exam guide shows all parts of the exam. Teil 3 uses multiple choice (a, b, c). Teil 2 uses matching only.

Why does Teil 2 test detailed reading?

All 8 excerpts describe the same resident. Many excerpts use the same words: Pflegepersonal, täglich, Unterstützung. Thus the topic alone does not decide the answer.

Three details decide most items:

The person who does the action. The nursing staff (PP), the resident, a therapist or a social worker.
The column. A goal (Ziel) tells what the resident can do later. A measure (Maßnahme) tells what the staff do now.
The time and frequency. Nahziel is a near goal, Fernziel is a far goal, and 2x täglich is not 1x pro Woche.

In the official mock exam, one statement says that the nursing staff offer activities. The matching excerpt says that the social service offers them. The actor is different, so the correct answer is x.

How do you solve Teil 2 step by step?

Read the admission report. Write the 3 main problems in the margin.
Read one statement. Underline the actor and the verb.
Find the excerpt with the same topic in the column Problem.
Read the columns Ressourcen, Ziele and Maßnahmen of that excerpt. Compare the actor, the action and the time.
If no excerpt has the same actor and action, mark x. Mark only one x.

Step 4 is the most important step. Most wrong answers have the correct topic but a different actor or time.

Aus dem Aufnahmebericht: Frau Ilse Brandt, 82 Jahre, kommt nach einem Schlaganfall aus dem Krankenhaus zu uns. Ihr linker Arm und ihr linkes Bein sind gelähmt. Sie hat eine Schluckstörung und Diabetes Typ 2. Sie ist orientiert.

a) Problem: Schluckstörung nach dem Schlaganfall, Gefahr der Aspiration. Ressourcen: isst gern Joghurt. Ziel: Frau B. isst und trinkt ohne Verschlucken. Maßnahmen: PP reicht nur pürierte Kost und angedickte Getränke. Eine Logopädin übt dreimal pro Woche das Schlucken mit Frau B.

b) Problem: Frau B. kann Tabletten nicht im Ganzen schlucken. Ziel: Frau B. nimmt alle Medikamente sicher ein. Maßnahmen: Die Apotheke prüft, welche Tabletten man teilen darf. PP gibt die Medikamente nach Plan auf einem Löffel Apfelmus.

c) Problem: Diabetes Typ 2, der Blutzucker schwankt. Ressourcen: meldet Zeichen einer Unterzuckerung. Ziel: Blutzucker im Zielbereich laut Arzt. Maßnahmen: PP misst den Blutzucker vor dem Frühstück und vor dem Abendessen und dokumentiert die Werte.

d) Problem: Sturzgefahr durch die Lähmung des linken Beins. Ressourcen: geht mit Hilfe einige Schritte. Nahziel: kein Sturz. Fernziel: geht in sechs Wochen allein mit dem Rollator zum Speisesaal. Maßnahmen: Die Physiotherapie übt zweimal pro Woche das Gehen. PP begleitet Frau B. auf jedem Weg.

e) Problem: Dekubitusgefahr an Gesäß und linker Ferse. Ressourcen: kann sich mit dem rechten Arm etwas drehen. Ziel: Die Haut bleibt intakt. Maßnahmen: PP lagert Frau B. nachts alle drei Stunden um und kontrolliert morgens die Haut.

f) Problem: kann den linken Arm beim An- und Auskleiden nicht benutzen. Ressourcen: zieht Oberteile mit dem rechten Arm selbst aus. Ziel: kleidet sich in vier Wochen mit wenig Hilfe an. Maßnahmen: PP zieht zuerst den linken Ärmel an, den Rest macht Frau B. selbst.

g) Problem: fühlt sich einsam, die Tochter wohnt weit weg. Ressourcen: hört gern Musik. Ziel: hat jeden Tag Kontakt zu anderen Menschen. Maßnahmen: Eine Betreuungskraft bringt Frau B. jeden Nachmittag zur Musikgruppe.

h) Problem: nachts inkontinent. Ressourcen: meldet sich am Tag, wenn sie zur Toilette muss. Ziel: Frau B. schläft ruhig, und ihre Haut bleibt gesund. Maßnahmen: PP bietet nachts zweimal Hilfe beim Toilettengang an.

Which mistakes cost points in Teil 2?

Read this section after you write your answers. The three mistakes refer to the practice care plan above.

Mistake 1: you match a word, not the content. Statement 5 is about a food. Excerpt a names a food, Joghurt, but only as a food that Frau Brandt likes. Another excerpt tells how she gets her tablets.

Mistake 2: you do not check the actor. Statement 3 says that the nursing staff practise swallowing with Frau Brandt. Excerpt a is about swallowing, but it names another person. If you match the topic only, you lose the point for the x.

Mistake 3: you stop at the first excerpt with the same time. Statement 6 and excerpt h both refer to the night. Excerpt h is about help to go to the toilet. Read the measure to the end before you select the letter.

How much time should Teil 2 take?

telc gives no separate time for Teil 2. Lesen and Sprachbausteine share one block of 60 minutes, and you divide the time yourself.

No. The official instruction says that one statement has no matching excerpt. If you have two x answers, check both statements again.

Is telc Pflege Lesen Teil 2 multiple choice?

No. Teil 2 is a matching task. Lesen Teil 3 has the multiple-choice items with the options a, b and c.

Do I need medical knowledge for Lesen Teil 2?

No. The care plan gives all the information that you need. You need the German words for care planning: Problem, Ressourcen, Ziele and Maßnahmen.
