ChatGPT now writes your telc Pflege questions.

soruLab pairs ChatGPT 5.6 Terra with its own exam engine. The model supplies the language power. The engine controls the telc format, the distractors and the answer keys. You practise with sharper Sprachbausteine, Lesetexte and Infotexte, and you learn more from the explanations. Every worksheet still passes the same grounding check against our clinical nursing sources before you see it.

Scoring & certificate

How B2, B1 or no certificate is decided

ComponentB2B1unter B1
HLS — Hören+Lesen+Sprachbausteine (59 pts)43–5927–420–26
Schreiben (20 pts)15–207–140–6
Sprechen (100 pts)75–10035–74.50–34.5

Sprechen is the gatekeeper

If Sprechen lands “unter B1,” there is no certificate at all — no matter how strong the rest of the exam is. For a B2 certificate, Sprechen itself must reach B2, and at least one of HLS or Schreiben must also reach B2 (neither may be “unter B1”). There are exactly three passing combinations (HLS / Schreiben / Sprechen): B2/B2/B2, B2/B1/B2 and B1/B2/B2.

For a B1 certificate, Sprechen must reach at least B1, and at least one of HLS or Schreiben must reach B1 too. The remaining component is allowed to be “unter B1” as long as it clears a minimum floor — 19 points for HLS, 4 points for Schreiben. The exam is only ever repeated as a whole; there's no partial retake and no carrying over a previous result.

Quality control

The checks this practice material passes

  • Exam format. Tasks follow the telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege task types. All items are original material, not copies of exam content.
  • Level fit. Grammar and vocabulary stay inside the B1–B2 band.
  • One correct answer. Each item has exactly one correct option.
  • Distractor quality. Wrong options come from the same word class or the same topic, so they test the skill, not luck.
  • Explanations. Each set includes an answer key and an explanation for every item.
  • Source anchoring. Clinical detail is written against nursing sources we hold and check. A set that drifts from them never reaches you.

A set that fails a check does not reach you — the engine writes a new one. How we write and check questions

Common questions

What is telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege?

It's a dual-level (skaliert) professional-language exam for international nurses. Every candidate sits the same exam, and the result is either a B2 certificate, a B1 certificate, or no certificate at all, depending on your scores. It's a language exam, not a nursing-skills exam — built around real ward situations like Übergabe (shift handover), Pflegeplanung (care planning), and conversations with doctors, patients and relatives.

What are the exam parts and timing?

The written exam runs 115 minutes with no break: Hören (listening), Lesen (reading) and Sprachbausteine (gap-fill) together are worth 59 points, and Schreiben (writing a report) is worth 20 points within that same block. Sprechen (speaking) is separate — 20 minutes' preparation plus a paired oral exam of about 16 minutes, worth 100 points on its own scale.

How do I get the B2 certificate?

Certification follows an official combination table, and Sprechen is the gatekeeper: if Sprechen scores “unter B1” (below 35/100), no certificate is issued at all, regardless of everything else. For B2, Sprechen itself must reach B2 (75+), and at least one of your other two components — HLS (Hören+Lesen+Sprachbausteine) or Schreiben — must also reach B2, with neither dropping into “unter B1.” There are exactly three passing HLS/Schreiben/Sprechen combinations for B2: B2/B2/B2, B2/B1/B2 and B1/B2/B2.

Do nurses need B1 or B2 in Germany?

B2 is the language level most commonly requested for Anerkennung (recognition) of a foreign nursing qualification, though some recognition paths accept B1 first with a requirement to reach B2 later. Exact requirements vary by Bundesland and by your individual recognition route — always confirm the current requirement with the responsible recognition authority (Anerkennungsstelle) for your case before relying on this.

Is soruLab affiliated with telc?

No. soruLab is an independent practice tool. Our questions are original material written to match the official exam's task types, structure and difficulty — never copies of telc's questions. For an official mock exam, telc provides one directly; see the link at the bottom of this page.

How is this different from general B2 practice?

General B2 material practices everyday and academic topics. This is built entirely around nursing scenarios and text types — Übergabe dialogues, Pflegeplanung care-plan documents, and Pflegeberichte (care reports) — plus the profession-specific vocabulary (verabreichen, mobilisieren, Teilübernahme, Nahziel/Fernziel...) that generic B2 courses don't cover.
