telc Pflege Lesen Teil 3: Format + 6 Practice Items

In telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege, Lesen Teil 3 gives you 3 texts from nursing work and 6 multiple-choice items, 2 items for each text. You select a, b or c for each item, and each correct answer gives 1 point, so Teil 3 is worth 6 points. You do not need every sentence: you find the part of the text that each item asks about.

What is the format of telc Pflege Lesen Teil 3?

The official telc mock exam (Übungstest 1) shows Teil 3 on pages 14 to 16. The items have the numbers 33 to 38. The instruction tells you to select the answer (a, b or c) that fits best.

Lesen has 18 points in total, and Teil 3 gives 6 of them. Our telc Pflege exam guide shows all parts of the exam.

In the official mock exam, the texts are a pharmacy information sheet, a circular (Rundschreiben) from the nursing director and a specialist text about a legal topic. Teil 3 has no matching task and no "no match" option.

Why is Teil 3 a selective reading task?

In the official mock exam, each text has about 200 words, but only 2 items. Thus most sentences do not decide an answer. Selective reading means that you find the 2 or 3 sentences for each item and read them in detail.

Two details decide most items:

Signal words. Nur, immer, erst, nicht and kein change the meaning of an option.
The person and the action. An option can name the correct person with the wrong action.

How do you solve Teil 3 step by step?

Read the heading of the text. It tells you the text type and the topic.
Read the 2 items of the text before the text. Underline the key word in each item.
Find the paragraph with the key word or a word with the same meaning.
Read that paragraph in detail. Compare each option with it.
Check the signal words in the options. If one word in an option is false, the option is false.

telc gives no separate time for Teil 3. Step 2 saves time, because you read the rest of the text quickly.

Medizinische Thromboseprophylaxestrümpfe: Hinweise für Pflegekräfte

Die Strümpfe üben einen gleichmäßigen Druck auf die Beine aus. So fließt das Blut in den Venen schneller zum Herzen zurück, und das Risiko einer Thrombose sinkt.

Anwendung: Ziehen Sie die Strümpfe morgens an, bevor der Patient aufsteht. Die Strümpfe dürfen keine Falten bilden, denn Falten können die Haut verletzen. Kontrollieren Sie einmal am Tag die Haut an der Ferse und am Knöchel.

Pflege: Waschen Sie die Strümpfe täglich mit der Hand oder bei 40 °C in der Maschine. Benutzen Sie keinen Weichspüler. Trocknen Sie die Strümpfe an der Luft und nicht auf der Heizung.

1 Die Strümpfe soll man

a) nur mit der Hand waschen.

c) bei 60 °C in der Maschine waschen.

2 Die Haut an der Ferse und am Knöchel kontrolliert man

Rundschreiben: Neue elektronische Pflegedokumentation

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

ab dem 1. März dokumentieren wir auf den Stationen 2 und 3 nur noch elektronisch. Bis zum 28. Februar benutzen Sie weiter die Papierkurven.

Für die neue Software bieten wir im Februar Schulungen an. Jede Schulung dauert drei Stunden und findet im Besprechungsraum der Station 2 statt. Die Teilnahme ist für alle Pflegefachkräfte Pflicht. Pflegehelferinnen und Pflegehelfer besuchen eine kürzere Einführung von einer Stunde. Die Schulungszeit gilt als Arbeitszeit.

Bitte tragen Sie sich bis zum 31. Januar in die Liste im Stationszimmer ein. Herr Kaya von der IT-Abteilung leitet alle Kurse. Bei Fragen zur Software rufen Sie bitte ihn an und nicht die Stationsleitung.

Schmerzen bei Menschen mit Demenz erkennen

Viele Menschen mit fortgeschrittener Demenz können nicht mehr sagen, dass sie Schmerzen haben. Unruhe, Rufen oder Aggression können ein Zeichen für Schmerzen sein. Pflegekräfte verstehen dieses Verhalten aber oft als Teil der Demenz. Deshalb bleiben Schmerzen in Pflegeheimen häufig unbehandelt.

Solange eine Bewohnerin noch Fragen beantworten kann, fragt die Pflegekraft sie direkt nach ihren Schmerzen. Die eigene Aussage ist immer die beste Quelle. Erst wenn die Bewohnerin nicht mehr antworten kann, beobachtet die Pflegekraft sie mit einem Bogen, zum Beispiel mit der BESD-Skala. Dabei achtet sie auf die Atmung, den Gesichtsausdruck, die Körpersprache und auf Laute.

Die Beobachtung allein reicht nicht. Die Pflegekraft dokumentiert das Ergebnis und informiert den Arzt. Über ein Schmerzmittel entscheidet der Arzt.

5 Schmerzen bleiben bei Menschen mit Demenz oft unbehandelt, weil

a) Pflegekräfte Unruhe oft als Zeichen der Demenz verstehen.
b) Ärzte bei Demenz selten Schmerzmittel verordnen.
c) Menschen mit Demenz weniger Schmerzen fühlen.

6 Die Pflegekraft beobachtet eine Bewohnerin mit einem Bogen,

a) zusätzlich zu jeder direkten Frage nach Schmerzen.
b) wenn eine direkte Frage nicht mehr möglich ist.
c) einmal pro Woche bei der Visite des Arztes.

Which mistakes cost points in Teil 3?

Read this section after you write your answers.

Mistake 1: you select the option with a word from the text. Item 3 option a names Herr Kaya and a telephone call. The text tells you to call him with questions about the software, not to register.

Mistake 2: you do not see a signal word. Item 1 option a says nur mit der Hand. The text gives two ways to wash the stockings: by hand or in the machine. The word nur makes option a false.

Mistake 3: you use your own knowledge, not the text. Item 5 option b sounds possible, but the text gives a different reason. Select the option that the text gives.
