telc Pflege 12-Week Study Plan from B1 to B2: Week-by-Week Table (2026)

A 12-week plan from B1 to B2 in telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege gives each week one exam section and one timed Übungstest. For a B2 certificate, you need at least 75 of 100 points in Sprechen and a B2 result in one more component. This plan aims at 43 of 59 points in Hören/Lesen/Sprachbausteine and 15 of 20 points in Schreiben.

Free practice for week 1: start the plan with Übungstest 1 online. It has 16 items in the exam format: three nursing reading texts, Sprachbausteine and nursing cases. It takes about 20 minutes. You can also download the same Übungstest as a PDF and solve it on paper. Write down your score. You compare it with your week 10 score.

What does B2 need in telc Pflege?

telc calculates three component results, not one total. The official telc mock exam (Übungstest 1 from telc, pages 40 to 42) gives these bands:

Sprechen decides the ceiling. If Sprechen is B1, the certificate is B1 at most. If Sprechen is below B1, telc issues no certificate.

For B2, Sprechen must be B2. One of the other two components must also be B2. The third component must be B1 at minimum. Our passing score guide shows all valid combinations.

This sets the plan priorities. Sprechen gets practice every week. Hören/Lesen/Sprachbausteine is the easier component to measure, because each correct item gives 1 point.

How many items does each written section have?

The 59 points in Hören/Lesen/Sprachbausteine come from 59 items. The official mock exam lists them as follows:

Reading and Sprachbausteine share one 60-minute block. Hören takes 25 minutes. Schreiben is one report task in 30 minutes.

The 12-week telc Pflege study plan from B1

Each week has one focus section and one Übungstest. Take the Übungstest at the end of the week, with a clock. The last column gives the soruLab test or the telc material for that week.

Keep the official telc mock exam complete until week 12. In weeks 4, 6, 7 and 8, use only the part of it for that week. telc gives the mock exam and the audio files free of charge on its exam page.

soruLab covers Lesen and Sprachbausteine only. For Hören, Schreiben and Sprechen, use the telc material in the table.

How to run one week of the plan

Use the same five steps every week.

1. Read the task instruction of the focus section in the official telc mock exam.
2. Take the Übungstest of the week without a clock and check every wrong item.
3. Write each wrong item into an error list: section, item, the sentence that decides it.
4. Take the Übungstest again with a clock on the last day of the week.
5. Speak for five minutes on one nursing topic and record yourself.

Step 5 is the Sprechen practice. It is in every week because Sprechen decides the certificate level.

If your week 10 score is not higher than your week 1 score, change week 11. Spend it on the section with the most entries in your error list.

Week 1 check: six Sprachbausteine items

This check uses the format of Sprachbausteine Teil 2: a short nursing report with gaps and three options per gap. Read the full report first. Then select a, b or c for each gap. The check does not give a telc level. It shows whether weeks 3 and 4 need more time.

Pflegebericht, Frühdienst, Zimmer 12

Frau Keller (84) hat in der Nacht schlecht geschlafen. Sie klagte um 5 Uhr über Schmerzen im rechten Knie. Die Nachtschicht hat ihr nach Rücksprache mit dem Arzt ein Schmerzmittel (1) ____. Frequently asked questions

Is 12 weeks enough to go from B1 to B2 in telc Pflege?

telc gives no official preparation time. The plan measures your score in week 1 and week 10. If the score does not go up, the plan tells you which section to change.

Can I get B2 if my Schreiben result stays at B1?

Yes, if Sprechen is B2 and Hören/Lesen/Sprachbausteine is B2. That means at least 75 points in Sprechen and 43 of 59 points in the written items. Schreiben must then be B1 at minimum, 7 of 20 points.

Does soruLab cover all five subtests?

No. soruLab covers Lesen and Sprachbausteine, with nursing cases in the same reading format. For Hören, Schreiben and Sprechen, use the free official telc mock exam and its audio files.

Can I take only the sections I need again?

No. telc states that you cannot take telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege as a partial exam. Plan for all five subtests in week 12.

1	b) verabreicht	A nurse gives the medicine: ein Schmerzmittel verabreichen. The doctor prescribes it (verordnen), so the night shift cannot be the subject of verordnet.
2	a) damit	The clause gives the purpose of the tea: so that she does not dehydrate. Weil gives a reason and obwohl a contrast.
3	c) da	The gap opens a clause with the verb at the end (konnte). Da is a subordinating conjunction. Deshalb and trotzdem need the verb in second position.
4	b) gewechselt	The fixed phrase is einen Verband wechseln. You wash the skin, not the dressing, and ziehen goes with stitches (Fäden ziehen).
5	a) tragen	The verb is eintragen: you enter a value into the chart. The particle ein at the end of the sentence decides it. Einhalten means to keep to a rule, and einlegen means to put something into a container.
6	c) über	The pattern is mit jemandem über etwas sprechen. Für and an do not go with sprechen in this meaning.

In Sprachbausteine, the words around the gap decide the answer. Check the verb position and the preposition before you select.
