1. Was sagen die Befürworter eines Verbots?

2. Welche Aufgabe hat die Schule laut den Kritikern?

3. Was fordern die Kritiker statt eines Verbots?

4. Welche Aussage entspricht dem letzten Satz?

Why B2 reading is really an argument-tracking exercise

The step from B1 to B2 is the step from stories to positions. A B2 text rarely tells you what happened — it tells you what one side claims (Befürworter verweisen auf …), what the other side counters (Kritiker halten dagegen …), and hides the author's own stance in a final twist. The exam then asks you to keep those three voices apart while every wrong option attributes a claim to the wrong voice or sharpens it by one degree.

soruLab's German Workbench writes a new B2-level article or commentary and a new question set every time you generate, restricted to B2 grammar and vocabulary. You choose the topic — education, work culture, technology, environment — and get a print-ready worksheet with an answer key in seconds.

Common questions

What does the Goethe B2 reading section actually test?

At B2 you read press-style articles, commentaries and opinion pieces on semi-abstract topics — education, work culture, technology, society. Questions target the structure of an argument: what one side claims, what the other side counters, and what the author implies without stating. Reported speech (Konjunktiv I) and passive constructions are everywhere.

How is B2 reading different from B1?

B1 texts mostly narrate personal experience; B2 texts weigh positions against each other. The distractors get closer to the text: at B2 a wrong option often paraphrases a real sentence but shifts one nuance — a claim becomes a fact, a possibility becomes a certainty, or one side's argument is attributed to the other.

Is the vocabulary and grammar really B2 level?

Yes. The generator is constrained to B2 structures — passive voice, Konjunktiv I for reported speech, nominal style, two-part connectors (zwar … aber, je … desto) — and argumentative topics, without drifting into C1 abstraction.

Can I get an answer key and explanations?

Yes, every generated worksheet includes a printable answer key, and you can add English explanations as an optional appendix page so you understand why an answer is correct, not just that it is.
