Leseverstehen · Niveau A2

Schreib mir bald! Deine Anna

1. Warum ist Anna nach Leipzig umgezogen?

Measures: Detail — reason with paraphrase (Arbeit → Stelle)

2. Wie kommt Anna zur Arbeit?

Measures: Detail — distractor from a nearby sentence

3. Was macht Anna dienstags?

Measures: Detail — matching the right time expression

4. Was soll Marie machen?

Measures: Inference — an indirect invitation

Quality control

The checks this practice material passes

  • Exam format. Tasks follow the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 Lesen task types. All items are original material, not copies of exam content.
  • Level fit. Grammar and vocabulary stay inside the A2 band.
  • One correct answer. Each item has exactly one correct option.
  • Distractor quality. Wrong options come from the same word class or the same topic, so they test the skill, not luck.
  • Explanations. Each set includes an answer key and an explanation for every item.

A set that fails a check does not reach you — the engine writes a new one. How we write and check questions

Why A2 reading practice needs fresh texts

A2 is where German texts stop being single sentences and start being real communication: an email with a reason (weil), a contrast (aber), a suggestion at the end. The Goethe-Zertifikat A2 exam checks whether you can find concrete information even when the question uses different words than the text. Reading the same three textbook emails again does not train that — you simply remember where the answer was.

soruLab's German Workbench writes a new A2-level email, notice or short article and a new question set every time you generate, restricted to A2 grammar and vocabulary. You choose the topic — moving, hobbies, travel, appointments — and get a print-ready worksheet with an answer key in seconds.

Common questions

What does the Goethe A2 reading section test?

At A2 you read short, everyday texts — personal emails, notices, small ads, simple articles — and answer questions about concrete information: who, where, when, why. The answer is in the text, but usually in slightly different words than the question, so you already need basic paraphrase recognition.

How is A2 reading different from A1?

A1 texts are a few very short sentences and the answer is stated almost word-for-word. At A2 the texts get longer, sentences are connected with weil, denn and aber, and at least one option is designed to tempt you with a word copied from the wrong sentence.

Is the vocabulary and grammar really A2 level?

Yes. The generator is constrained to A2 structures — present and perfect tense, modal verbs, simple subordinate clauses with weil and wenn — and everyday topics like moving, work, hobbies, travel and appointments, without drifting into B1 abstraction.

Can I get an answer key and explanations?

Yes, every generated worksheet includes a printable answer key, and you can add English explanations as an optional appendix page so you understand why an answer is correct, not just that it is.
