    Read the information below.

🔬 The Human Body — Fun Facts

    • The human body has 206 bones
    • The smallest bone is in the ear (the stapes)
    • Your heart beats about 100,000 times a day
    • Red blood cells carry oxygen around the body
    • The largest organ in the body is the skin

According to the information, which of the following is NOT correct?

    • AThere are 206 bones in the human body.
    • BThe smallest bone is found in the ear.
    • CRed blood cells transport oxygen.
    • DThe heart beats about 10,000 times a day.
    Cevabı ve çözümü göster

    Doğru cevap: D

Doğru cevap D. Bu bir "NOT correct" sorusu, yani metinle çelişen seçenek doğru cevaptır. Bilgi kutusu "Your heart beats about 100,000 times a day" diyor; D aynı bilgiyi 10.000 olarak veriyor, o yüzden sayılı seçeneklerde sıfırları tek tek karşılaştırmalısın. A ve C kutuda aynen yazıyor (206 kemik, oksijeni taşıyan alyuvarlar), bu yüzden cevap olamaz.

    Read the text below.

    The Water Cycle

Water on Earth is always moving. When the sun heats water in oceans, lakes, and rivers, it evaporates and rises into the air as water vapour. As the vapour rises, it cools down and forms clouds — this is called condensation. When the clouds become too heavy, the water falls back to Earth as rain, snow, or hail — this is called precipitation. The water then flows back into rivers and oceans, and the cycle starts again.

According to the text, which of the following is NOT correct?

    • AThe sun causes water to evaporate.
    • BCondensation happens when water vapour heats up.
    • CPrecipitation can take the form of rain, snow, or hail.
    • DThe water cycle is a continuous process.
    Cevabı ve çözümü göster

    Doğru cevap: B

Doğru cevap B. Metin condensation'ı "it cools down and forms clouds" diye tanımlıyor; yoğuşma su buharı soğurken olur, ısınırken değil. "NOT correct" sorusu olduğu için metne ters düşen B doğru cevaptır. C aldatıcı görünüyor, ama metin "rain, snow, or hail" diyerek onu doğruluyor, yani C elenir.

Read the four students' statements about their science interests.

Elif: I want to be an astronaut when I grow up. I dream of walking on Mars one day!Marco: I'm interested in animals. I want to study dolphins and how they communicate with each other.Yıldız: I love chemistry! Mixing different substances and watching the reactions is so exciting.Chen: I want to build robots that can help elderly people at home.

Who is interested in studying animal communication?

    • AMarco
    • BElif
    • CChen
    • DYıldız
    Cevabı ve çözümü göster

    Doğru cevap: A

Doğru cevap A. Soru hayvan iletişimini araştırmak isteyeni soruyor; Marco "study dolphins and how they communicate" diyor.

  4. 4.

    Read the passage below.

    Marie Curie (1867–1934)

Marie Curie was a Polish-born scientist who moved to France to study at university. She is best known for her research on radioactivity. Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences — Physics and Chemistry. She discovered two elements: polonium (named after Poland) and radium. Sadly, her long exposure to radiation affected her health, and she died in 1934.

According to the passage, which of the following is NOT correct?

    • AMarie Curie was originally from Poland.
    • BShe won Nobel Prizes in two different fields.
    • CShe discovered three new chemical elements.
    • DPolonium was named after her home country.
    Cevabı ve çözümü göster

    Doğru cevap: C

Doğru cevap C. "NOT correct" sorusunda metne UYMAYAN seçenek doğru cevaptır. Parça "She discovered two elements: polonium and radium" diyor; C element sayısını üçe çıkarıyor. B ve D metinde açıkça yazıyor (Fizik ve Kimya'da iki Nobel, Polonya'dan gelen polonium adı), bu yüzden eleniyor.
